ABOUT
RACING FOR COREY
Founded
in 1999, Racing for Corey is a program designed to bring together
the sport of auto racing and kids diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses,
in hopes of inspiring them to stay strong and to hold onto their dreams.
Through
Racing for Corey, race-themed events are organized to entertain the wish
kids and families of various non-profit, wish-granting organizations across
the country. Events include exclusive "meet and greet" sessions
with celebrity race car drivers and a hands-on experience with Racing
for Coreys quarter midget race car.
The program was founded
in the memory of Corey Hanchar, a nine-year-old member of the Indiana
Childrens Wish Fund. Visit Coreys Corner,
a feature written by Debbie Hanchar, Corey's mom.
In 2001,
Racing for Corey visited and entertained over 1,000 families and children
in three states. Racing for Corey hosts multiple fundraising events throughout
the year with the proceeds going directly to designated organizations
that Racing for Corey supports.
Racing
for Corey is a 501 (c) 3, not-for-profit organization. For more information,
